Reverend Philip Vestal

Pastor

A native Texan, Rev. Philip Vestal is a third generation minister.  He was called to vocational ministry at the age of 14 and began preaching at the age of 16.  After receiving his B.A. in Religion from Baylor University and ordained into full time gospel ministry in 1992, Rev. Vestal has served as a youth evangelist, missionary, Associate Pastor and a Senior Pastor.  He began his ministry at FBC Commerce in September of 2022.   He is married to Melissa and they have 3 adult children.  Some of his hobbies include watching sports, playing golf, travel and he loves chocolate as well as the Andy Griffith Show.   Rev. Vestal’s life verse is Philippians 4:13.

Cara Morgan

Minister to Children and Families

Cara grew up in Lexington, SC, and felt a calling to ministry as a teenager.  Cara has degrees from Furman University and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, and was ordained in 2014.  Cara's passion is ministry to children, and she loves watching children grow in their understanding of and love for God.  Cara has a dog and two cats, and enjoys spending time with her nephews and niece.

Kathy Pruett

Organist

Kathy Pruett is a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Commerce. Along with her family, Kathy was actively involved in the programs of the church. She served as church organist during high school. Kathy graduated from the University of West Georgia, moved to Atlanta and began her career in international hotel sales management.  

Since Kathy and her husband, Ernie, moved back to Commerce, Kathy served as interim organist at the Commerce First United Methodist Church for 7 years and church organist at FBC Commerce for over 15 years. As well as her responsibilities as organist, she has participated in many activities of the church; she has served terms on the deacon board and several other standing committees.

Kathy and Ernie have three children and eight grandchildren. Since retiring, they spend most of their time on Lake Lanier enjoying time with family and friends. 

Judy Eubanks

Pianist

Mrs. Judy Eubanks has served as FBC pianist since 1985. She first began her service as church musician over fifty years ago (1965), at the age of 13. The former Judy White, she is a lifelong resident of Commerce and is a graduate of Commerce High School. She is married to Johnny Eubanks and they have two sons and three grandsons. She is retired from Commerce Printing, after 33 years as graphic designer. She is President of the Four Seasons Garden Club and is a member of the Commerce Athletic Booster Club. She loves watching her grandsons play sports and working among her flowers. After retiring, she is still doing design and printing from her home where she operates Judy's Print Shop.

Diane Henson

Administrative Assistant

Diane moved to Jackson County in 2016 from Gwinnett and is grateful to have found a home with FBC, beginning her work with them in December 2022.  She earned her Bachelor and Master degrees in Business Administration from Liberty University.  Her interests include cross-stitching and writing, and she enjoys being creative in a variety of ways.  She has done many free style forms of cross-stitch using photos as patterns, and she has written several children’s books about her two dogs, Harley and Elsa.

Jennifer Renzetti

Church Administrator

Jennifer is a financial management specialist with over 20 years of experience. In 2018 she put roots down in Franklin County. When she's not home schooling, she enjoys cooking, farming and serving her family. She is married to her husband Richard and they have 6 children. Jennifer began her ministry with FBC Commerce in February, 2023.

Cameron Shirley

Social Media and Website

Cameron will promote and communicate events, programs, activities and ministries of the church to the congregation and community through our social media accounts and website. Cameron began her Commerce career as the Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor at Commerce High School. Currently, she is the Work-Based learning and Dual Enrollment Coordinator for Commerce High School and promotes Shirley Feed and Seed through their social media. She received her Bachelor and Master degrees from Clemson University and her Specialist degree from Auburn University. She married Matt Shirley in 2013 and they have two children, Jack and Beau.
