Rev. Dr. David Sapp

Interim Pastor

David Sapp received his Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University, his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

 

He is the retired pastor of the Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta. He has taught as an adjunct in several seminaries and has written widely for denominational periodicals.  He served as Interim Pastor at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, AL; Wilton Baptist Church, Wilton, CT; Madison Baptist Church, Madison, GA; and Second Avenue Baptist Church, Rome, GA.

David has been married to his wife Linda for 52 years, is the father of two adult sons and the doting grandfather of five wonderful grandchildren.

Kathy Pruett

Organist

Kathy Pruett is a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Commerce. Along with her family, Kathy was actively involved in the programs of the church. She served as church organist during high school. Kathy graduated from the University of West Georgia, moved to Atlanta and began her career in international hotel sales management.  

Since Kathy and her husband, Ernie, moved back to Commerce, Kathy served as interim organist at the Commerce First United Methodist Church for 7 years and church organist at FBC Commerce for over 15 years. As well as her responsibilities as organist, she has participated in many activities of the church; she has served terms on the deacon board and several other standing committees.

Kathy and Ernie have three children and eight grandchildren. Since retiring, they spend most of their time on Lake Lanier enjoying time with family and friends. 

Judy Eubanks

Pianist

Mrs. Judy Eubanks has served as FBC pianist since 1985. She first began her service as church musician over fifty years ago (1965), at the age of 13. The former Judy White, she is a lifelong resident of Commerce and is a graduate of Commerce High School. She is married to Johnny Eubanks and they have two sons and three grandsons. She is retired from Commerce Printing, after 33 years as graphic designer. She is President of the Four Seasons Garden Club and is a member of the Commerce Athletic Booster Club. She loves watching her grandsons play sports and working among her flowers. After retiring, she is still doing design and printing from her home where she operates Judy's Print Shop.

Mandy Byers

Children's Director

Mandy Byers grew up in Gwinnett County and has lived in

Commerce for more than 20 years. She and her husband, Matt,

have two adult daughters, Morgan and Madison.


Mandy is honored to serve as the Children’s Director at FBC. She believes children bring incredible joy, energy, and honesty, and she feels truly blessed to walk alongside them as they grow in their faith. As a mother and active member of the community, Mandy is passionate

about creating a welcoming environment where

every child feels seen, valued, and excited to come to church.

Working with children has always been close to her heart. She loves encouraging them, cheering them on, and celebrating their milestones.

Jennifer Renzetti

Church Administrator

Jennifer serves as Church Administrator at FBC Commerce, bringing over 15 years of experience in management and finance to support the daily operations of the church. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and is dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of church activities while supporting the overall mission of the church. Working faithfully behind the scenes, she oversees daily operations, coordinates events, and manages church communications to help ensure that all activities align with the church’s values and vision.

Jennifer and her husband, Richard, live in Franklin County and are blessed with six children. They are grateful to continue serving and growing alongside their First Baptist Church family.

Mary Purvis

Administrative Assistant

Bringing over 30 years of experience, Mary serves as an Administrative Assistant dedicated to creating an organized, efficient, and welcoming environment for the staff, members and visitors alike. Mary and her husband, Bo, have lived in the Commerce area for 28 years and enjoy spending time with their family of two daughters, their sons-in-law and their two precious grandchildren. Known for a friendly approach and a proactive mindset, Mary is grateful to serve here at FBC and takes pride in being a reliable point of contact, and a helpful resource. Mary looks forward to bringing a positive and productive experience for everyone.
