Clothes closet Ministry

Volunteers open the Clothes Closet every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. Clothes are free to anyone. Volunteers also meet to sort, hang and organize clothes.

Meals on wheels

Volunteers deliver hot meals from the county Senior Citizens’ Center to shut-ins in Commerce each weekday.

Food Bank

Members donate food items weekly and volunteers help pick up and distribute food at the Food Bank location.

Ministry of Caring

This ministry provides funds to help with emergency needs such as food, shelter, utilities, and medicine.

QUILTing ministry

“Comfort Quilts” are designed to offer comfort to people in our local community who are enduring life-altering illnesses. Our quilters are made up of members and friends of First Baptist Church of Commerce. Anyone who would like to help with these quilts is invited to come to our Quilt Ministry room on Wednesdays at the church. If you would like to learn more about this ministry contact Nicky Wilbanks.

Operation Inasmuch

Takes place in the spring or fall. Members of our congregation reach out in the community by doing yard work, home repairs, washing cars, visiting shut-ins, delivering food and opening the clothes closet.
