WELCOME KELSEY!

kelsey for church2We welcome Kelsey Stillwell to our staff on a permanent basis!  This past Sunday morning, the congregation voted 94% in favor of calling Kelsey as our Minister to Families and Youth and she has accepted.

Over the past summer, Kelsey has demonstrated a strong sense of calling to ministry and a gift for ministering to youth.  Her sense of creativity and passion for worship will provide a fresh atmosphere in our services.  In addition, Kelsey is interested in reaching out to those families that are composed of young couples and single adults.

I have enjoyed working with Kelsey and also with JD Granade over the summer.  I hope and pray we can continue this arrangement.  I think many people, particularly the parents of children and youth, have seen the advantage of having separate people working with children and youth.

I am grateful to the McAfee School of Theology for producing such outstanding ministers.  Our church’s relationship with McAfee has proven to be a beneficial one.  Over the past ten years, the school has proven to be an excellent resource whenever we have had staffing needs.

This past Sunday was a milestone in the life of our church.  I want to thank each of the people on the Search Committee for the excellent work they have done.  Those members are Ancil Baird, Clarence Bryant, Dylan Wilbanks, Michele Head, Jennifer Sanders, Jon Massey, Joe Head, Ron Henderson and Windy McCannon. We are grateful for the conscientious manner in which they have sought God’s will throughout this process.  I look forward with great anticipation as we explore where God is leading our church.
