The Verse Challenge
Posted by Lee on Jan 25, 2012 in Featured Stories, Ritchie's Roots | 0 commentsIs there a particular verse of the Bible with which you connect? Do you have a verse that you say often or think of often? I’m just wondering if anyone has a theme Bible verse, one that gives both comfort and encouragement while at the same time strengthening your commitment to Christ. There are several verses to which I find myself coming back. Jeremiah 29:11 continues to resurface for me reminding me that God is bigger than any storm I might face or any unknown path I may encounter. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and give you a future.” I must say though that lately another verse has been rising to the surface of my mind just floating up to my consciousness. I used it recently in a children’s sermon. “O taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are those who take refuge in him.” Psalm 34:8 I can’t explain why this verse is so present for me now, but I am trying to use it to remember to savor the goodness of God. And I must say I am discovering new ways in my life that God is good. I am thankful for those moments and that I can experience God in new and old ways. So I invite you to please share with me which verse or verses are ever present in your mind.
